uShip Shopify App: Quick Start Guide

Before You Begin
Ensure you have:
- A Shopify store with Carrier Calculated Services (CCS) enabled
- Admin access to your Shopify store
- A uShip account (If you don't have one, you'll create it during this process)
Step 1: Create Your uShip Account
- Go to https://www.uship.com/signup/shipping-customer
- Complete the sign-up process
- Add a credit card: https://www.uship.com/creditcards/

Step 2: Generate uShip API Key
- Log in to your uShip account
- Visit: https://www.uship.com/api-key-generation
- Generate and copy your API key

Step 3: Install the uShip Shopify App
- Open uShip's Shopify app directly from Shopify's App Store here
- Log in to your Shopify admin account
- Click "Add app" and follow the installation prompts
- When prompted, paste your uShip API key
Step 4: Create uShip Shipping Profile
- Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery
- Click "Create new profile"
- Name it "uShip"
- Set shipping zone to United States
- Deselect all non-contiguous states (should have 49 entities selected)
- Click "Add rate"
- Select "Use carrier or app to calculate rates"
- Choose "uShip Rate Provider"
- Save the profile
Step 5: Add Product Dimensions & Weight
- Go to Products in Shopify admin
- For each product you'll ship through uShip:
- Add product weight
- Add dimensions in one of these formats:
- In product description:
Dimensions: 23"W x 33"H x 21"L
- In product title:
Product Name 48"W x 18"D x 74"H

Step 6: Configure uShip App Settings
- Go to Apps > uShip Shopify App
- Set your preferred markup (percentage or fixed amount)
- Configure uShip Protection Program (UPP) settings
- Set Earliest Pickup Date buffer
Step 7: Test Your Integration
- Go to your Shopify storefront
- Add a product to cart and proceed to checkout
- Enter a US address and verify uShip appears as a shipping option
- Complete a test order
- For items purchased on your Shopify store or via point-of-sale: Verify the order creates a shipment listing in your uShip account
- For items NOT purchased on your Shopify store of via point-of-sale: You need to manually send your orders to uShip. Find more details on how to do this here.
