Before You Begin

Ensure you have:

• A Shopify store with Carrier Calculated Services (CCS) enabled
• Admin access to your Shopify store
• A uShip account (If you don't have one, you'll create it during this process)

Step 1: Create Your uShip Account

1. Go to https://www.uship.com/signup/shipping-customer
2. Complete the sign-up process
3. Add a credit card: https://www.uship.com/creditcards/

Step 2: Generate uShip API Key

1. Log in to your uShip account
2. Visit: https://www.uship.com/api-key-generation
3. Generate and copy your API key

Step 3: Install the uShip Shopify App

1. Go to the Shopify App Store
2. Search for "uShip"
3. Click "Add app" and follow the installation prompts
4. When prompted, paste your uShip API key

Step 4: Create uShip Shipping Profile

1. Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery
2. Click "Create new profile"
3. Name it "uShip"
4. Set shipping zone to United States
5. Deselect all non-contiguous states (should have 49 entities selected)
6. Click "Add rate"
7. Select "Use carrier or app to calculate rates"
8. Choose "uShip Rate Provider"
9. Save the profile

Step 5: Assign Products to uShip Profile

1. Go to Products in Shopify admin 
2. Select products for uShip shipping
   
   1. Make sure products have dimensions listed somewhere in the description
   2. If dimensions are not within product description they can be added with metafields.
3. Edit each product to add weight

Step 6: Configure uShip App Settings

1. Go to Apps > uShip Shopify App
2. Set your preferred markup (percentage or fixed amount)
3. Configure uShip Protection Program (UPP) settings
4. Set Earliest Pickup Date buffer

Step 7: Test Your Integration

1. Go to your Shopify storefront
2. Add a product to cart and proceed to checkout
3. Enter a US address and verify uShip appears as a shipping option
4. Complete a test order
5. Verify the order creates a shipment listing in your uShip account
