Sending Shopify Orders to uShip

Updated

Once you've set up the uShip Shopify App, you'll need to create listings in the uShip Marketplace to book shipping for your orders. This guide will walk you through the process of sending your Shopify orders to uShip, both automatically and manually.

Automatic Order Sending

How Automatic Sending Works

All orders placed on your Shopify store that have "uShip" as the selected shipping method will be sent to uShip immediately after the customer checks out.

  • The listing will contain all items in the order.
  • The pickup location will be set to your store's shipping origin.

This automatic process ensures a seamless experience for both you and your customers.

Manual Order Sending

If uShip is not the selected shipping method for an order, or if you need more control over the listing details, you can manually send orders to uShip.

How to Manually Send Orders to uShip

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to the Orders page
  2. Select the order you want to send to uShip
  3. Look for a "Send to uShip" button or option
  4. Follow the prompts to create a uShip listing for the order

Updating Order Details

Sometimes you may need to adjust the details of an order before sending it to uShip. Here's how to make those changes:

Updating an Order's Pickup Location

If you ship from multiple locations:

  1. Start the process to manually send the order to uShip
  2. On the "Send to uShip" page, find the "Change Address" button below the pickup address
  3. A list of your store's locations will display
  4. Select the desired location and click "Select"

Note: The available locations are based on your Shopify store's locations. To add or edit a location, navigate to Settings > Locations in Shopify Admin.

Important: Updating an order's origin address may change the calculated shipping price.

Updating an Order's Items

If you need to adjust which items are included in the uShip shipment:

  1. Start the process to manually send the order to uShip
  2. On the "Send to uShip" page, you can edit the quantities of the items as needed
  3. Only unfulfilled items will be available to select

Note: Updating an order's items may change the estimated shipping price.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review your automatic listings to ensure they're being created correctly
  • For orders with special requirements, consider using the manual sending process for more control
  • Keep your Shopify locations up-to-date to ensure accurate pickup location options
  • When manually adjusting orders, double-check the shipping price changes to avoid unexpected costs
