WHAT IS A TERMINAL?

A freight terminal is the connecting facility where shipments are transferred, and trucks are switched. These terminals can include trucking terminals, railroad terminals, and seaports, depending on your shipment’s transit level and destination. Please keep in mind when booking LTL instant rates your shipment will likely be handled several times and likely stop at several terminals during transit.

If you would like to book a terminal drop-off or pickup, please read how to do so here.

DO YOU OFFER REFRIGERATED OR AIR FREIGHT?

Currently, uShip LTL does not offer refrigerated shipping or air freight. For any of your needs outside of LTL please visit our marketplace.

WHAT IS FREIGHT CLASS?

Freight class is a standardize way to classify your shipment based on certain characteristics. While many brokers use NMFC Freight Class, uShip uses density-based freight class to simplify your shipping. It is important to provide accurate dimensions and weight for your shipment to assure the correct freight class. Not providing the correct information will oftentimes lead to additional charges.

You can read more about density-based pricing here.
