Why do you need my Social Security Number (SSN)?
Updated
uShip works with a payments provider called Stripe that offers a bunch of exciting new features, like instant payouts and mobile withdrawals, but it also means we need to verify your identity.
That’s where your SSN comes in. Carriers that fail to complete this step will be unable to book until we receive the necessary information.
It’s important to note that this is not a background check. Information gathered for verification purposes will be encrypted and sent directly to Stripe. uShip and its employees are not able to store or access your SSN for any purpose.
