Additional Charge - BOL Correction Fee

Updated

A BOL correction fee on an invoice usually means that the pickup location did not supply the driver with the correct BOL upon pickup.

When the correct BOL is not used, it is highly likely that either the shipper or consignee will be billed directly for the shipment. To ensure this doesn't happen, the carrier must obtain the uShip BOL and send the invoice to uShip, rather than the shipper or consignee. All LTL Carriers charge a fee for BOL correction when they have to change the bill-to party like this.

Please make sure to have the uShip BOL ready for the driver if you are at the origin location. If you are not at the origin location, please make sure to email or fax the pickup location a copy of the BOL. You can also view this useful uShip Help Center article on the importance of using the BOL.

If there is a BOL correction fee which justifiably needs to be removed, please email ltlsupport@uship.com with the bill of lading number for the shipment in question along with an explanation as to why you feel that the BOL correction fee is not correct. uShip will then work with you to take this correction request to the carrier.

Please note: uShip has no vested interest in any type of additional charges from carriers. We want all shipments to be successful and invoice at the quoted amount. If you believe this charge is in error please help us help you with the additional charge by following the steps above.
