What information do I need to provide for ID Verification?

Updated

If you're a provider that is prompted to complete Identity Verfication, there is some information you'll be asked to provide. All information is mandatory to receive a successful result unless otherwise indicated.

When verifying as an individual

You will need to provide some personal information, including your Social Security Number (or TIN).

When verifying as a business

You will need to provide your business information, including your Employer Identification Number, as well as your personal information (including SSN or TIN) and that of any business owner over 25%.

Why?

Stripe requires this information to verify your identity. Your identity must be verified due to requirements that come from regulators and are intended to promote transparency and prevent individuals from using complex company structures to hide terrorist financing, money laundering, tax evasion, and other financial crimes.

Please remember that this information is not stored by uShip and is immediately sent to Stripe.
