What is Identity Verification?

Updated

uShip has partnered with a new payments processor, Stripe, to make it easier for us to bring you the payments features you want - like instant payouts and in-app payments. In order for Stripe to maintain their regulatory requirements, they require that we gather some personal, verifiable information from our service providers.

If you have not completed the Identity Verification process, you will be unable to:

  • Submit Quotes
  • Book Shipments
  • Ask Questions

Important: You must take this step even if you’ve received payouts from uShip in the past.

Why?

Stripe requires this information to verify your identity. Your identity must be verified due to requirements that come from regulators and are intended to promote transparency and prevent individuals from using complex company structures to hide terrorist financing, money laundering, tax evasion, and other financial crimes.

Identity verification is a process owned and managed by Stripe. Your information is securely encrypted and maintained solely by Stripe and will not be sold or otherwise used for any other purpose than this one verification. This means that this information is not used to verify your services or to complete any kind of background check. It also does not imply any kind of employment relationship with uShip.com or Stripe.
