GDPR

Updated

At uShip we value privacy and transparency, so we wanted to let you know about the steps we’ve taken toward GDPR compliance.

What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new set of rules from the EU with a focus on data protection and privacy, aimed at giving individuals more control over their personal data.  You can read more about the GDPR here.

Who is affected by GDPR?

The GDPR applies to organizations that handle the personal data of EU individuals, even if the organization is located outside of the EU.

When does it go into effect?

May 25th, 2018.

What is "personal data"?

Personal data is any information related to a natural person that can be used to directly or indirectly identify the person, such as name and email address.

What steps is uShip taking?

We are conducting a thorough review of our processes, systems, and policies to ensure that our practices are aligned with the requirements of GDPR. This includes practices related to data protection, data collection, data transfer, and consent. We are also providing more transparency around our use of cookies through implementation of a Cookie Policy.

uShip is also certified under the E.U.-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework, which addresses the lawful transfer of data outside of the EU. You can find out more about the E.U. - U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and view a  full list of certified organizations here.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at privacy@uship.com with any questions. We are happy to help.
