The information you enter on this form will have a direct impact on the success of your shipment. It’s of the utmost importance that you verify this information prior to booking an LTL Instant Rate. Carriers won’t be verifying this information prior to picking up your freight. They’re relying on the information you provide in order to successfully transport and invoice your shipment.

Select your handling unit. Selecting Other will remove you from our LTL Instant Rates platform, and send you to the LTL Marketplace where you’ll be prompted to start an auction.

Enter the dimensions in inches. If you don’t know the dimensions of your shipment, you must try to find them. LTL Instant Rates are directly related to the dimensions you provide. If dimensions are inaccurate, the carrier may remeasure and charge more for the shipment after delivery. Carriers quote on density, and dimensions play a huge role in this calculation. It is very helpful to document your dimensions prior to handing freight to a carrier in the event of an inspection.

Enter the weight. If you don’t know the weight of your shipment, you must try to find out prior to completing the quote form. LTL Instant Rates are directly related to the weight input on this form. If the weight is inaccurate, the carrier may remeasure and charge more for the shipment after delivery. Enter the number of items being shipped. If you’re shipping multiple pallets with the same dimensions and weight, enter the weight of one pallet and enter the number of pallets in this field. The total weight will be calculated below. Verify that the total weight of all pallets matches the weight of your shipment.

Enter your preferred pickup date. Carriers can typically accommodate pickups on the same day as booking but it’s best to schedule the pickup at least one day in advance. If you’re booking a pickup after 1 PM local time, it’s highly advised that you call the carrier at the number listed on the BOL to ensure that they can accommodate the pickup.

Enter pickup and delivery zip codes. Carriers can only produce accurate quotes when zip codes are provided. Adding the correct zip code will help to prevent reconsignment charges and transit delays.

Select pickup and delivery location types. It’s very important that you determine this information prior to receiving Instant Rates on your shipment.   Google Earth is a great resource  for determining location types if you’re unsure. Carriers won’t verify the location type prior to showing a quote on uShip. If the proper location type isn’t selected on this form, you’ll likely be rebilled by the LTL carrier after delivery. If you have any questions about location types, please contact LTL Support at 1-888-579-1240. We’ll be happy to help.

Select liftgate service when there’s not a dock or forklift. It’s very important that you find out if a liftgate is required at either pickup or delivery prior to receiving LTL Instant Rates on your shipment. Google Earth is very useful for viewing addresses and locations if you’re unsure. For insurance reasons, many carriers won’t let a shipper load or unload their own freight without a liftgate. If a liftgate is required, it’s important to properly select it at this point in the process to avoid hassle and additional charges later.

Select "Call Before Delivery" or "Appointment Required" if necessary. Select these add-ons during the quoting process when needed to help eliminate additional charges later.
