Getting Asked for Cash on Delivery on an LTL Shipment
When you book an LTL Instant Rate on uShip, you prepay for all freight costs through our site. A carrier should not ask for additional funds upon delivery. If this ever happens, it's likely that the uShip bill of lading (BOL) was either not used or was somehow lost in transit.
If a carrier asks for payment on delivery, do not pay it.
Instead, give uShip a call and provide your uShip bill of lading (BOL) number and the carrier’s PRO/bill number. We can clear everything up with your carrier usually within a half hour. The most important thing is to not offer cash or a check to your carrier on delivery. Getting those funds returned to you can take several weeks. Instead, give us a call at 1-888-579-1240.
