Filing an Insurance Claim


Transportation can be risky business. That's why we offer cargo insurance. If you purchased uShip Cargo Insurance during checkout, then you can file a claim directly through uShip.

Locate the shipment in My Shipments, usually in the Completed status tab, and select View from the drop-down menu on the right. On the following page, select File an Insurance Claim from the drop-down menu located on the top right. You'll be asked to provide basic information about the shipment and your losses including contact information, total value, and an estimate of damages. You'll also need to complete a checklist for the following items in order to proceed with your claim.

  • Photos (before and after)
  • Copy of the Bill of Lading
  • Valued inventory (if one exists)
  • Repair estimate
  • Appraisal of the item prior to the shipment (if available)

After you submit your claim, you'll receive a confirmation email with contact information for the Roanoke Claims Department. You should hear from them within one business day. You can contact Roanoke at 844-283-8350.
