Filing an Insurance Claim


Transportation is risky business, and sometimes things happen along the way. If you purchased uShip Cargo Insurance during the checkout process, then you can file a claim right through uShip.

To do so, click the File an Insurance Claim button on the corresponding shipment. You'll be asked to supply basic information about the shipment and the losses, contact information, the total value of the cargo, an estimate of damages, etc. You will also be required to complete a checklist indicating that you have the following items in order to proceed with your claim:

  • Photos (before and after)
  • Copy of the Bill of Lading
  • Valued inventory (if one exists)
  • Repair estimate
  • Appraisal of the item prior to the shipment (if available)

After you submit your claim, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Roanoke Claims Department's contact information. You should hear from them within 1 business day.
