Getting Asked for Cash on Delivery

When you book an LTL instant rate on uShip, you prepay for all freight costs. If you or your customer is asked by the carrier for funds on delivery, it is likely that the uShip bill of lading was either not used or was somehow lost in transit.

If you are asked for payment on delivery by your carrier, do not pay it.

Instead, give uShip a call and provide your uShip bill of lading number and the carrier’s PRO/bill number. We can clear everything up with your carrier usually within a half hour. The most important thing is to not offer cash or a check to your carrier on delivery. Getting those funds returned to you can take several weeks. Instead, give us a call at 1-888-579-1240.
